Education (AP) -- Bill Pepicello was recently appointed president of the University of Phoenix, the largest accredited private university in the country. Owned by Apollo Group, Inc. -- a Phoenix, Arizona-based public company -- the for-profit chain of schools enrolls just under 300,000 students and operates in 39 states and online.
