The Atlanta Braves have acquired closer Bob Wickman from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for minor league catcher Maximilano Ramirez. Wickman, who was 1-4 with a 4.18 ERA and 15 saves in 29 games this season for Cleveland, is expected to add much-needed help to the Braves' bullpen, which has struggled this season. The right-hander is an established closer and will likely continue to finish games for Atlanta as well.
Ramirez, 21, has been in Single-A all season, hitting .285 with nine homers and 37 RBI in 80 games. He was also a South Atlantic League All-Star.
